workspaces, allow the kiosk or end users browser interface to be
placed on the server.
This makes changing the PC clients view &
functionality of the browser or kiosk to be instantaneously adjusted
an viewed by all client participants. This also allows for different
clients to have different browser or kiosk functionality without
having to deliver additional software to the client systems.
The
Case for Simpliciti Internet Presentation Software
SIPS
Public Domain Browsers and their
respective user interface present users with many features and
functions that are not needed in many enterprises, commercial and
educational environments.
Desktop browser applications have served
to increase IT costs to the point where tens if not hundreds of
millions of dollars are spent annually on applications whose sole
purpose is to limit the risks and costs associated with browser usage.
Typical areas of concern are
- Network management and utilization
- Total Cost of Ownership at both the desktop
and network levels
- The risks associated with security and safety
of data and employees
- Productivity
Simpliciti Internet Presentation Software
(“SIPS”) is a new configurable Internet presentation technology
that resides on your Web servers AND delivers customized browser-like
functionality and capabilities to your desktop PCs.
SIPS based solutions are the most cost
effective, safe and secure alternative to client-side browser
applications such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc. Each
SIPS Server-side Workspace can be configured to suit the needs of
a specific user group or profile. This configurability extends to
areas such as;
- User Navigation Controls (Visual)
- Branding
- User Navigation Restrictions (domain based,
etc)
In other words end users can be delivered as much
or as little browser functionality best suited to complement their
work activities.
SIPS solutions can also be configured to
safely deliver productivity enhancing features that are not
found in typical browsers including:
·
Multi state, context maintained, tabbed interfaces
·
Browsing options such as allowing downloads, clearing
history and allowing access to navigation options can be controlled
via preset configuration of the workspace as well as dynamically
controlled via code on html pages.
·
Password protected access and control for shared or
common use devices
·
Configurable, integrated timer controls
·
Lockdown of browser and or Desktop

HOW IT ALL WORKS
Server Side Activities:
Each SIPS workspace starts from a
configurable template that you acquire from us. Each template offers a
Set-Up screen that presents the options you wish to select. Once
configured, the Server side workspace is ready to be stored on your
Web Server, much like any web page.
This server side workspace contains all of the
functional elements needed to interact with your Internet applications
and content.
Client Side Activities:
In order to ensure the fastest and most robust
user experience, each SIPS workspace seamlessly captures the
power and flexibility of the client side OS and processor by enlisting
the support of a set of specially designed ActiveX controls that can
be pre installed on a one time only basis on any target PC.
These controls install in seconds and fully support automated delivery
via the network
Using a SIPS Server Side Workspace
The desired server side workspace is
automatically accessed when the application is started on the client.
Accessing a server workspace on the client can be
as easy as turning on the PC. The client application can be configured
to auto start with the PC for Kiosk or single purpose clients.
Alternatively the server workspace can be
accessed by the client application when started via desktop Icon or
from a windows menu.
As easy to maintain as a Web Page:
Should the need arise to change a SIPS
Workspace it’s simply a matter of reconfiguring the workspace and
replacing the old one. There is no additional client side
distribution.
